2. Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State

Now this is the Mississippi State product everyone expected to be here. The Browns have made it a not-so-secret that they really like Jeffery Simmons, enough to trade up for him. At this point, Simmons is likely to go late in the first round, and the Browns could have a chance at his services with a trade into the end of the first round.

Despite Simmons’s obvious concerns which would likely turn most general managers off, the Browns obviously believe in his talent. The depth of Cleveland’s defensive line opens the door for this pick to happen on Thursday night, but the Browns will have to move up to secure that reality.

A torn ACL and a horrifically violent video from high school haunt Simmons’s past, but John Dorsey’s track record shows that he is not afraid to get his hands very dirty. Tyreek Hill, Antonio Callaway, and Kareem Hunt were all Dorsey pick-ups, and Simmons could be as well. The talent is obviously there, but there are so many questions.

This is the most obvious, and most likely, trade up situation for Cleveland on Thursday night. But, it might not be the best deal they could have come draft day.
