Cleveland Browns: 4 potential breakout stars in 2019

One thing John Dorsey has done since taking over for the Browns is to find players he knows and trusts to fill certain roles. He did that with a couple of players this offseason including the controversial move to land Kareem Hunt who was cut by the Chiefs following a video of him assaulting a female. While the Hunt signing got all the press, there were a few other faces that Dorsey was familiar with that he brought to The Land.

One is tight end Demetrius Harris, who will serve as the backup to David Njoku. There was also Eric Kush who was in Chicago the past two seasons but began his career with Dorsey in Kansas City. Kush can play both guard and center and serves as insurance — or competition — for Austin Corbett who aims to replace Kevin Zeitler.
A third person Dorsey brought over that he has a past working relationship with is safety Eric Murray. A fourth-round pick by Dorsey while with the Chiefs in 2016, Murray was acquired in exchange for Emmanuel Ogbah who became expendable after landing Olivier Vernon.
Murray is a special teams stud but started nine games in 2018 due to injuries in the Kansas City secondary. He finished that campaign with 55 tackles, two pass defenses, and his first career interception. A former cornerback in college at Minnesota, Murray could find time on the field should Morgan Burnett continue to struggle with health an ineffectiveness (he was cut one season into a three-year deal with Pittsburgh).
Between his play on special teams and the potential to find time on the field in base packages, there’s a shot that Murray could end up becoming a name to remember in Cleveland.
