Vet fighting for a spot No. 1: Juston Burris

A 6-foot, 212-pound corner, Juston Burris joined the Browns in November after being signed off the New York Jets practice squad. At the time, he was a depth piece as they tried to cover for some injuries. He played in four games and had just two tackles.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

Burris did have two interceptions in his two-plus seasons with the Jets and has the kind of size that defensive coordinator Steve Wilks desires. The Browns likely will keep five corners and as of now, he may be atop the pack for that final spot — but it won’t be easy.

Vet fighting for a spot No. 2: Lenzy Pipkins

The most interesting thing about Lenzy Pipkins is that he’s the cousin of Jamie Foxx — according to the team’s website. Cleveland is the fourth team for the former undrafted corner out of Oklahoma State. He’s really going to have to stand out to make the team this year.

Vet fighting for a spot No. 3: Tavierre Thomas

Also undrafted in 2017, Tavierre Thomas was the pride of Ferris State. He made it to the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals but was cut before the season began. He landed with the Browns via waivers and was on the opening day roster. He played in 13 games and was a special teams ace.

Second-year player looking for time: Robert Jackson

A member of the practice squad for part of 2018, Robert Jackson has impressive size at 6-foot-2 and 207-pounds. He’s still a long shot to make the roster but has eligibility for the practice squad for the next two seasons.
