2. Damarious Randall, Safety

When John Dorsey took over as the Cleveland Browns general manager, he shipped off all three quarterbacks who were on the roster before his arrival. They got very little in exchange for Cody Kessler and Kevin Hogan, but they made out rather well when trading away DeShone Kizer.

It was a perfect storm as the Green Bay Packers just saw their 2017 campaign end with no playoff berth as Brett Hundley struggled in place of an injured Aaron Rodgers. They were also starting to remodel their own secondary which meant they were willing to part with Damarious Randall while being in need of someone to compete with Hundley.

That led to the teams making a swap and Cleveland seems to have gotten the better of the deal so far. Randall was a ball hawk for the Packers during his first three seasons as a cornerback and continued to be one for Cleveland last season.

He was moved to free safety, the position he played in college, and tied his career high in interceptions with four while also registering a personal best 85 tackles.

Much was made of the Cleveland offense having a new and improved culture due to players such as Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry, however, the defense had the same change and much of that was due to the swagger brought by their new centerfielder. Randall has a lot of confidence and it was contagious as his fellow secondary members shared the same attitude.

They may have had their issues overall but they never backed down from anyone and always seemed to come up with the big turnover when needed. Randall deserves much of the credit for that and should be given an extension very soon.
