Can Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield be the best No. 6 to ever play in the NFL?
All is good after one season
Entering his second campaign and coming off of a historic rookie season, Mayfield is staring superstardom right in the eyes, and we know he won’t flinch. We have witnessed many quarterbacks succumb to the dreaded sophomore slump. Not that Mayfield is immune to any of the issues that can plague players, but he is built for this.
He’s too mentally tough to fail. After all, he was drafted by an 0-16 Browns team and he embraced it when many other quarterbacks would have run from it and some actually did. Mayfield will not wilt under pressure, and he will not run from adversity. His mindset will not allow for such things.
Everything is trending in the right direction. It’s now time for Baker Mayfield to take the next step in his quest for greatness. It’s all there for the taking.
He’s already referred to as “Six” by many Browns fans, thanks in large part to Cleveland Browns Daily’s Beau Bishop. It’s only a matter of time before that number will be synonymous with Mayfield league-wide.
His impact on the number is already being felt. Young players from Pop Warner to high school are already choosing to wear number 6 because of Mayfield. By the end of his rookie contract, he could very well be the most successful number 6 in the history of the NFL. Let that sink in.
