2. Dwayne Bowe, Wide Receiver

Wideout No. 2 makes the list here as the Browns made an error in bringing in Dwayne Bowe following his release from the Kansas City Chiefs. A first-round pick out of LSU back in 2007, Bowe had plenty of good moments with the Chiefs. Three times in his eight seasons with Kansas City, Bowe crossed the 1,000-yard mark. His best campaign came in 2010 when he had 72 receptions for 1,159 yards and three touchdowns.

Eventually, age caught up with Bowe as he finished his career with K.C by not recording a touchdown in his final season. This led to his release and it was Cleveland who came calling with a two-year contract worth $13 million. While that total isn’t outrageous, they did guarantee $9 million of that contract — which seems even worse when you realize he hardly even saw the field.

Bowe played in seven games for Mike Pettine’s team but never started. There was a bit of an internal discord there as Pettine wasn’t thrilled with the signing made by former general manager Ray Farmer, so he simply didn’t use the wideout much at all.

Overall, Cleveland paid Bowe $9 million to catch five passes on 13 targets. Again, he finished without crossing the goal line and was released following the season. He then signed a one-day contract with the Chiefs to retire as a member of their team.
