Passing Prop Bets

After a successful rookie season, quarterback Baker Mayfield is ready to take the next step as the leader of the Browns. There’s plenty reason to believe he will as he still has Freddie Kitchens working with him. Last season, Kitchens was the play-caller in the second half of the season which was when the rookie really took off.

He’s also been given more tools to work with this season. General manager John Dorsey went out and added a game-changing wide receiver via trade as the Browns landed Odell Beckham, Jr. With him joining the team, hopes are high that Mayfield will excel — and that’s seen in his placement on the passing prop bets listed by Odds Shark.

Mayfield comes in at +1400 odds to lead the NFL in passing touchdowns this season. That puts him fifth in the NFL behind Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons, and Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers.

For those keeping score at home, this puts him above Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints, and Tom Brady of the New England Patriots. It even puts him well ahead of Colin Cowherd’s favorite sophomore passer, Sam Darnold. The second-year New York Jets signal-caller came in with +7500 odds, sandwiching him between Derek Carr and Nick Foles.

The lowest odds of +10000 went to a few players, including Andy Dalton of the Cincinnati Bengals. Although, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson wasn’t even on the list as it only showed the top 25.

Mayfield came in at the same odds to pass for the most yards in the NFL, but that placed him seventh. Either way, oddsmakers clearly see him as one of the best in the game despite his youth.
