2. Hunt apparently needed a wake-up call…again

The Browns took a chance on Kareem Hunt this offseason after he was released by the Kansas City Chiefs once a video of him shoving and kicking a woman in a Cleveland hotel surfaced. Hunt said all the right things after being released and even accepted his eight-game suspension from the league without a battle — even though he could have argued that a first offense deserved a six-game ban.

All that seemed to indicate he understood that he was given a second chance and was on thin ice — but maybe not. In June, Hunt was in a physical altercation at a bar which ended with police questioning him. Nothing came from the incident and Hunt now looks back at this and said it was a “wake-up call.”

"“I’m definitely always going to have work to do,” Hunt said after the conclusion of Browns’ practice via Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports. “Since I stepped in the building I have work to do. I’m just going to keep, you know, staying in my lane doing whatever it takes to, you know, take my game to the next level and stay out of trouble.”"

The problem with the comments Hunt made is that June should not have been a “wake-up call.” That should have come back when he was released during the season by the Chiefs, or maybe later like when the league suspended him eight-games.

Hunt has a target on his back now after what he did while with the Chiefs and it’s a little worrisome that it wasn’t enough for him to realize he has to change his ways. Hopefully, that was just a poor choice of words and he continues to stay on the straight and narrow.
