Roster Spots Made and Lost
Throughout the preseason, wide receiver and James Madison product Ishmael Hyman has been making a case to make it into the back end of the roster. However, with his play early in the game tonight, he may have lost his spot on the 53-man roster.
Hyman had three drops, two of which should have been easy catches and one of which should have been a touchdown, on the same drive. Although his play was much improved in the second half, that performance may have come as too little too late.

In his place may be Ohio State alum and former quarterback Braxton Miller, who caught a touchdown very late in the first half. Many who are close to the team claim that Miller is almost sure to make the team, and his score in the first half tonight should secure his roster spot.
On the defensive side, Devaroe Lawrence may have cracked the full-time defensive line rotation with his performance against Detroit tonight. Lawrence showed out throughout the preseason, helping secure his name with a multiple sack performance on quarterback Tom Savage.
The 53-man roster is beginning to take shape for the Browns, and Lawrence and Miller are nearly sure to make the team. Now, the real fun will begin for Freddie Kitchens and John Dorsey, as most of the rest of the roster cuts will be splitting hairs.
