Game: Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns

Summary: It’s finally here! The moment every Cleveland Browns fan has been waiting for. The 100-year offseason is finally over and we get to embark on the 2019 campaign. First on the slate is the Tennessee Titans, a team that was one win away from making the playoffs in 2018.

The Titans boast a solid defense that is physical and will get after quarterbacks. The Browns will need to get their running game going early to slow up the Titans front seven; outside linebackers Cameron Wake and Harold Landry III in particular. Expect Freddie Kitchens to give the Titans a hefty dose of Nick Chubb on Sunday. The talented second-year rusher is coming off of a stellar camp and will be looking to cash in on all of his hard work.

The main attraction Sunday will be Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham. Mayfield will be like a kid waking up on Christmas morning eager to play with his shiny new toy. If the two are able to connect on a touchdown, it wouldn’t be surprising if the roar from First Energy Stadium registers on the Richter scale.

Cleveland’s defensive front six will have to prove they can stop the run early and often. The Titans will not be looking to get into a shootout, and they will try to employ a downhill running scheme with their defensive end sized running back Derrick Henry. If the Browns are able to slow Henry up and Mayfield and company hold up their end of the bargain, this game could get real ugly for Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota. The Browns defensive line will be looking to hunt. Don’t be surprised if Mariota is unable to finish the game and there is a Ryan Tannehill sighting.

Also, Browns rookie kicker Austin Seibert will be perfect on the day, going: 4/4 on extra points and adding a field goal before the half.

This game will be closer than many think in the first half, but the Browns will be able to pull away in the second half and win comfortably.

Prediction: Cleveland 31, Tennessee 17
