Get Yourself Under Control

The Browns’ biggest problem in this game, by far, was their lack of discipline. The Browns simply could not get themselves under control this game, especially on the offensive line. Their penalty yards tallied up to nearly 200 for the game, with a copious amount of personal fouls on the offensive line especially.

The offensive line itself was another big problem, as Mayfield was sacked five times by Tennessee’s offensive front. Mayfield’s one passing touchdown to three interceptions ratio was not ideal, considering that one was taken back for a touchdown by Titans cornerback Malcolm Butler.

Despite how easy the first drive looked for Cleveland, their three and a half quarter long stall on the offensive front simply cannot happen again. The Browns looked good for exactly one drive in the second half, and then went back to not being able to score. Games are won on defense, but the offense looked completely out of sync.

The Browns need to get themselves under control by next Monday night, or the Jets game will also proceed to be a total failure. The Freddie Kitchens experiment is in full swing, and he has plenty of time to fix this, but it certainly would’ve been better to start 1-0 and be building momentum instead of 0-1 and wondering what went wrong.
