Another position that the Browns need to address is safety. After adding cornerback Greedy Williams out of LSU in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, it seemed as though this would be the next logical step. Then in the third round with a couple of interesting names on the board still, Cleveland went another route as Dorsey called on BYU linebacker Sione Takitaki.

They did end up taking a shot on Sheldrick Redwine in the fourth round and they do love his upside. That still isn’t enough for them especially when you consider the fact that Damarious Randall has yet to be extended and Morgan Burnett can’t stay on the field.

With those two issues going on, they get themselves a good prospect for the back end of their defense as the second-round pick in this mock draft is used on Texas safety Brandon Jones. At 6-foot-1 and 215-pounds, Jones is a powerful safety that has no issues delivering the hit.

His one shortcoming is that he doesn’t generate turnovers, but the Cleveland defense has always been good at finding ways of getting the ball. Jones is a young player with a lot of experience — entered this season with two years as a starter — that can stick with tight ends and help in run support. He’s a solid addition at this point.
