Last season, the Browns added a lot of linebackers to their defense as they were set on overhauling the unit. They added free agent Adarius Taylor and they selected Sione Takitaki in the third round of the draft followed by Mack Wilson in the fifth — which was an absolute steal by the way.

Looking forward to 2020, those players could become much bigger parts of the game plan. Christian Kirksey is once again sidelined with an injury and there’s a good chance he will be released after the season ends. They could also be without Joe Schobert, who is on the final year of his contract.

Schobert deserves a new deal but all has been quiet on that front as all indications suggest he and the team have not taken part in any negotiations. Hopefully, that will change but as of now, all we can do is hope.

Whether he stays or not, the Browns will likely have at least one new starter meaning they need to add more depth. That leads to the selection of Ohio State’s Malik Harrison. A stud in run defense, Harrison had his best season as a junior in 2018.

That year, he had 81 tackles, 8.5 of which were for a loss, 2.5 sacks, and recorded his first career interception. He may not offer a lot in coverage but there’s enough to work with here and he could be a special teams ace given his ability to get after the ball carrier.
