2. C J.C. Tretter

Not only in the name of continuity along the offensive line, but also because of his performance, J.C. Tretter must return to Cleveland past the 2019 season. Already losing Zeitler, and with both tackle spots in question as well, the Browns have to keep the interior of their offensive line together, or we could see early season struggles again in 2020.

Tretter has also been one of the most dependable players for the Browns, as evidenced by his willingness and grit to play through a significant ankle injury last season. The Cornell grad remains one of the most versatile centers in the NFL, as he can easily pull around the edge and get out as a lead blocker in the run game, while holding his own as a pass blocker as well.

According to PFF, Tretter is grading out as a quality starter, with a score of 72.1 on the season for the Browns. Maybe the most underrated player on the entire Browns’ roster, Tretter has put together good seasons every year he has worn the Brown and Orange; you can also tell that he is adored by his teammates.

The Browns can afford to re-sign Tretter, what they cannot afford is to continue to rip apart their offensive line even further than they already have. Pay the man his money and keep one of the better centers in the league in Cleveland.
