3. Joe Schobert

Joe Schobert is in the final year of a four-year contract. He led the league in tackles in 2017 that culminated in a Pro Bowl appearance and has regained that level of production so far this season.

Schobert has been all over the place averaging 15 tackles per game in the Browns’ two wins and just 15 total tackles in their two losses.

More from Browns News

The Browns will need him to be at his best this week. The 49ers average 178 rushing yards per game and have two running backs averaging more than five yards per carry.

Except for the Ravens and their number one rushing attack, no running back with more than five carries in a game has averaged over five yards per carry against this Browns’ defense this season.

Despite being 3-0, 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been less than stellar with five touchdowns and four interceptions. The 49ers depend heavily on their running backs with each of their top three backs having at least three receptions and averaging 10 yards per reception.

Schobert and the linebacking core have their work cut out for them, and a good game could force the 49ers to get out of their comfort zone leading them to be one-dimensional and depending on Jimmy Garoppolo to be something he has not this season — efficient.
