Summary/How we got here

This mock draft was completed on The Draft Network’s mock draft machine, and the picks were based on this writer’s thoughts on the Browns’ current team needs. Given that the interior of the offensive line is more vital to the Browns’ offense than the tackle position (as evidenced by last season), it is not as much of a priority as many think it is.

Here is proof of the results of the mock draft:

Instead, there is no need to reach on a tackle, but the Browns finally find themselves in a position to take the best player available. In the first two rounds, those players were SEC standouts Delpit and Davis. Finally a talented tackle fell into the Browns’ lap in the third round in Adams.

Day-three is an opportunity for the Browns to now take chances on high-risk, high-reward players who, worst-case scenario, give them solid depth behind their front lines. This led to the selections of Okwuegbunam, Moss, Becton, and Holloman; Okwuegbunam and Moss could potentially contribute as rookies as well.

Needs could obviously change as the season moves forward, but in this mock draft, the Browns were able to add long and talented prospects to their roster.

Overall, the Browns plug some much-needed areas of weakness on their roster in the first three rounds of the draft in this mock.
