Devaroe Lawrence needs to be disruptive.

Normally a backup defensive tackle wouldn’t play that large of a role, but this week Devaroe Lawrence could see significant playing time. Lawrence, a second-year defensive tackle out of Auburn, a cemented himself as the rotational piece of the Browns interior defensive line.

Lawrence needs to be a disruptive force on Sunday. Going after a quarterback like Russell Wilson is more than enough to exhaust a defensive front, and they will need Lawrence to provide quality snaps when giving Larry Ogunjobi and Sheldon Richardson some needed rest. The ability to keep a defensive front fresh for the fourth quarter could be the difference between winning and losing.

Beyond just giving the starters a needed breather, Lawrence needs to make plays when given the opportunity. Last week, Lawrence missed his chance at registering his second interception in as many weeks. Although that isn’t necessarily his skill set, Lawrence needs to seize any opportunity to make an impact this Sunday.

Lawrence is a good run defender and he needs to demonstrate that this week. The Seahawks are going to come downhill at the Browns, and the best way to stop that is by controlling the line of scrimmage.

If the defensive tackles can be disruptive at the point of attack, it could keep the Seahawks offense off schedule. Lawrence, along with Ogunjobi and Richardson, will play large roles in determining the outcome of Sunday’s game.
