2. Cleveland will keep Russell Wilson in the pocket
The biggest problem when a quarterback scrambles out of the pocket is it gives his receivers more time to get open. There is no one better in the league at that then Russell Wilson.
He also has one of the best deep threats in the league, Tyler Lockett. A simple roll out of the pocket can give Lockett enough time to change directions and get open 60 yards down the field.
Containing Wilson will be the responsibility of the defensive line. They have to stay in their rush lanes so they don’t give Wilson any gaps to take off through or break the outside contain.

Cleveland’s defensive line has been excellent this year, they have 16 sacks and 31 tackles for loss. But those aren’t the things they will need to do, although tackling Wilson in the backfield.
They will have to be disciplined which has been a problem for the entire team, especially defensive end Myles Garrett. Garrett can’t recklessly rush up the field, which will create a void for Wilson to extend the play.
It goes without saying that Wilson can also hurt you with his legs, this season he has run for seven first downs and two touchdowns.
It is so crucial for the defensive line to stay in their rush lanes because they have good speed to catch Wilson if they do.
Larry Ogunjobi and Sheldon Richardson can move on the interior line. Garrett and Vernon cover a lot of ground but they can’t just rush straight up the field.
If the Browns can show discipline, which they have not shown the ability to do, they have the players to keep Wilson in the pocket. If they can’t, Wilson will be using this game to add to his MVP candidacy.
