Stud: Odell Beckham, Jr.

The season started out slow for Odell Beckham, Jr. and his frustration was evident. To be fair to OBJ, he wasn’t out there throwing a fit or anything like that, but you could see when things weren’t clicking on the field he was upset — with himself.

After going for 71 yards in his debut and 161 with a touchdown in his second game with Cleveland, OBJ put up 56 yards in Week 3 followed by 20 and 27 in Weeks 4 and 5 respectively. Then on Sunday, he found himself again starting out slow.

Beckham dropped a couple of passes early. While they were a bit off target, he has hauled in much more difficult throws and his body language showed he was tired of not making an impact. Then, he finally broke through.

Facing a first-and-20, Beckham hauled in a 41-yard reception that moved the ball to the Seattle 39. This time though, it was a pass that he really had no business catching. Mayfield had just thrown this one up and Tedric Thompson was right there with him.

That didn’t matter as No. 13 just leaped in the air and pulled down the ball for the big gain. Cleveland didn’t score on the drive as Mayfield was picked off in the red zone but that wasn’t on OBJ.

From there, he continued to roll and had his second 100-yard receiving day as a Brown. In all, he had 101 yards on six receptions — and it could have been even more had the offensive linemen not been flagged on a couple of his grabs.
