Round 3, Pick 78: Marvin Wilson, DT, Florida State

Staying on the defensive side of the ball, the Browns add a bit of depth to the defensive trenches in the third round. With the 78th pick in the draft, Dorsey and company bring Florida State big boy Marvin Wilson to Cleveland in order to establish some depth behind Sheldon Richardson and Larry Ogunjobi.

Outside of Devaroe Lawrence, the Browns have struggled to find anyone who does not become a liability along the Cleveland defensive front. Wilson has been a stud for the Seminoles’ defensive line and the Browns could surely use him as they look to compete with the gritty teams of the AFC North.

At 6-5 and 311 pounds, Wilson is a whole lot of man and has been plugging gaps for the Florida State defense all season. Frequently finding himself in the backfield, Wilson has tallied four and a half tackles behind the line of scrimmage and three sacks from his defensive tackle spot.

Already matching his numbers from his 2018 campaign, Wilson has shown he has taken the next step in his development. He now finds his name called in the upper half of the draft, landing with the Browns here in this mock draft.
