5. Entire Offensive Line

This one was simple and I wasn’t going to focus on just one player on the offensive line. Unlike any other unit, the offensive line is dependent on each other.

They obviously do things like combo blocks and communicating the protection but there is more to it than that. It does not matter if Joel Bitonio can block his man every time if Chris Hubbard is getting beat on the outside.

I also want to make it clear that while they need to improve in pass protection, they have been very good in the run and are a crucial part of how good Nick Chubb has been.

As for the pass protection, they must find a way to protect Baker Mayfield. He’s looked unsettled in the pocket and is throwing off his back foot which is leading to some of the costly interceptions.

The right side of the line, guard Eric Kush and tackle Chris Hubbard, has been a turnstile because anybody that gives a little bit of push gets through. That’s pressure coming right into Mayfield’s face and makes it harder for him to escape the pocket.

Guard Joel Bitnio and center J.C. Tretter have been solid in pass protection. It has been a different story for left tackle Greg Robinson. He was a high draft pick and has all the physical gifts but has never put it all together.

This group has the most room to improve mostly because they have been so bad. But they can help with the improvement of the other offensive players on this list, Mayfield, Beckham, and Callaway. If they improve this could to be a totally different Cleveland Brown’s offense.
