T Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Philadelphia Eagles

While Lamp may be too small to play tackle, Halapoulivaati Vaitai is the ideal size and has starting experience at tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles. This offseason the Eagles used a first round pick at the offensive tackle position, and with Jason Peters and Lane Johnson already on the roster, Vaitai could be obtainable for the Browns.

A fifth round pick of the Eagles in 2016, Vaitai has started 11 games in Philadelphia, including 10 in 2017. At 6-6 and 320 pounds, Vaitai has the size necessary to stalwart opposing edge rushers in pass protection.

As the Eagles’ swingman this year, their third tackle who comes in on run-heavy formations, Vaitia is grading out at a high 72 according to PFF. He has played both guard and tackle for the Eagles throughout his career, so he could be a versatile weapon for the Browns should they choose to pursue him.

Vaitai is in the last year of his career, but at just 26 years old, he has a long future of football ahead of him. Just like Lamp, Vaitai could be acquired for a day-three pick as well from the Eagles, well worth the risk if the Browns can get a deal done for the future (also should not bee too pricey) with the big boy.
