After landing two players near or at the top of their positions in the first and second round, the Browns are able to land arguably the next best safety in the draft behind Grant Delpit. California’s Ashytn Davis is a highly regarded heat seeking missile in this class. As the Browns look to shore up their secondary, he becomes a much-needed asset.

Jermaine Whitehead is not the solution at strong safety long-term and Randall is not playing
well enough to earn a large extension to this point either. With Simmons landing with the Browns in the top-ten of the draft, Cleveland adds Davis in the third, giving them a young, dynamic duo moving forward.

Getting two physical safeties is a sure way to combat the plague in Cleveland that is missed tackles, as Simmons and Davis can both play close to the line of scrimmage and be a solid asset in run support. Davis is also a solid playmaker over the top of the defense as well in deep coverage.

Not satisfied with Whitehead and Randall (who may not even be back in Cleveland next season)? No problem! Here comes the dynamic duo of Simmons and Davis. Enjoy!
