Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. AdamTrautman. TE. player. 6. 176 overall. 53

One of this writer’s sleepers in the draft this year is found at the tight end position and in the state of Ohio. While the University of Dayton is considered a small program, tight end Adam Trautman is an absolute stud that should no longer be slept on.

Six games into his senior season with the Flyers of Dayton, Trautman has already recorded 46 catches for 615 yards and 10 touchdowns. Trautman has already topped the statline of his junior season, where he tallied 604 yards and nine touchdowns on 41 catches.

The injury to David Njoku, while he is still young and in just his third season, does not bode well for his development and standing within the Browns’ organization. In his absence, the Browns have gotten just as much production out of free agent addition Ricky Seals-Jones.

However as the Browns run a ton of 12 personnel (1 running back, two tight ends), having another versatile weapon at the tight end position is a necessity. The 6-foot-6 and 253 pound Trautman fits the bill for the Browns, as they are able to land him in the sixth round here as the brown and orange land one of the best kept secrets in this year’s draft class.
