We have reached the seventh round of this weekly mock draft for the Browns, and here they add a high risk, high reward edge rusher in Utah State’s Tipa Galea’i. Kicked out of TCU for an assault charge, Galea’i is in his second year at Utah State since his transfer; it is no secret that Browns’ general manager John Dorsey is not afraid to take chances on players with a history of off the field issues.

When he was with the Chiefs, Dorsey drafted both Kareem Hunt and Tyreek Hill, both of which have been in the headlines for violence against women. In addition to signing Hunt in Cleveland after being cut by the Chiefs, Dorsey has also drafted Antonio Callaway as well, who has also already been suspended.

Galea’i is coming off a double-digit sack season for Utah State, but so far in 2019, he has managed just two sacks off the edge. Entering the season as a late day-two, early day-three pick in the draft, Galea’i now finds himself listed as a seventh-round flyer.

Should he pick up the pace in the back half of his senior season, and should he test well at the combine and his pro day in March, then Galea’i could climb his way back up the draft boards. For now, the Browns are able to land a talented but troubled 6-foot-5, 230 pound edge rusher in Utah State’s Galea’i.
