Lucas Niang, TCU

No shortage of talent in this draft class, Texas Christian University’s Lucas Niang is a fringe first-rounder, early second-round prospect. Niang could be the best “bang-for-buck” tackle in this class who could be a high caliber player obtained outside of the top 20 in the draft.

Listed at 6-7 and 328 pounds, Niang has seen action for the Horned Frogs ever since his freshman year at TCU in 2016. Last year as a junior, Niang was awarded multiple honors, as he added second-team All-Big 12 honors and first-team All-Pro Football Focus honors to his trophy case.

Even as a sophomore back in 2017, Niang started all 13 games for TCU, and graded out as the highest pass blocker in the Big 12. With plenty of playing time under his belt at the college level, this should also help to curb a steep learning curve as he adjusts to the NFL next season; this would benefit both the Browns and quarterback Baker Mayfield as he needs some added protection, like, yesterday.

Coming in at third on this list, Niang is a guy the Browns could land should they have a boost to the last nine games of the season and end up picking anywhere between 15-22 in the draft.
