It’s been, to say the least, a weird season for the Browns thus far. Not only has the offensive unit not lived up to expectations, but the entire team seems to be underperforming. Halfway through the year, Cleveland stands at a disappointing 2-5. But, they’ve had a tough schedule so far, culminating in last week’s 27-13 loss to the New England Patriots. Now with the first half of the year out of the way, the Browns have a chance to rattle off some wins to close out the year as the schedule opens up quite a bit. First up, the Denver Broncos.

More from Browns News

The Browns will not be meeting a familiar foe in quarterback Joe Flacco, as he will be out for the foreseeable future with a neck injury. Instead, the Browns’ defense will have the task of dealing with Brandon Allen, a quarterback who has never taken a professional snap since entering the league in 2016. Myles Garrett will be lining up across from Denver’s Garret Bolles, and fans should anticipate a big game from Cleveland’s defensive front as a whole.

As for the Browns’ offense, we know exactly what that Denver air does to opposing quarterbacks. Last year, Baker Mayfield led the Browns to their first win in Denver since the turn of the millennium. This year, he’ll be looking to turn his season around in the Mile High City. As for the running game, the Browns should be able to lean on Nick Chubb against the Broncos’ 19th-ranked rushing defense.

I like the Browns here. It’s hard to guarantee a win, seeing as the Browns have been up and down this season. However, the offense should be able to get rolling against Denver, and I like the prospect of the defensive front up against a first-time starter.

Score: Cleveland 27, Denver 17
