Cleveland Browns bolster trenches in Week 10 mock draft

Finally, while wide receiver is not a huge problem for the Browns’ offense as they have the likes of Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, and Antonio Callaway, adding one on day three of the draft is not a bad option. Under-utilizing Rashard Higgins in the last year of his contract in Cleveland, it is looking highly unlikely that he returns in a brown and orange uniform in 2020.
With Beckham and Callaway playing outside the numbers and stretching the field, Landry has taken over the slot role in the middle of the field. However, losing Mayfield’s favorite target is not a small loss to the offense (hence, maybe why the offense has been struggling as Higgins is not on the field), so adding another quick-footed, route running technician late in the draft could give the Browns another underneath option.
Besides, since Alonzo Highsmith has been in the Browns’ front office, the team has brought a Miami Hurricane to the team via the draft in Thomas and Sheldrick Redwine. Here they make it three straight years by grabbing senior wideout Jeff Thomas in the seventh round. Thomas, a 5-10, 180-pound junior will likely return to school if his stock in Miami’s putrid offense does not improve, but he shows the traits to be a great receiver.
