Game: (5-4) Pittsburgh Steelers at (3-6) Cleveland Browns

Summary: The Cleveland Browns finally stopped the bleeding and got themselves back in the win column. However, there is no time to bask in the warm glow of winning this week. It’s right back to business as the Browns will take on their hated division rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers, in a Thursday Night Football matchup at First Energy Stadium.

The quick turnaround might be exactly what the Browns need after gathering up some much-needed momentum. The Browns will be looking to keep the recent cohesion they discovered between the 20s going against the Steelers. The key will be getting six points instead of three when Browns get in the RedZone.

As it will be most weeks to finish this season, the real question on Thursday will be if the Browns offensive line can win at the point of attack. If the Browns can just hold their own on the line of scrimmage, they will find success. If the Steelers defensive front can live in the Browns backfield, then the offense will struggle.

The Browns’ offense needs to keep building off of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt’s abilities. If the Browns can run the offense through their uber-talented running backs, then the rest of what they want to accomplish will come much easier. Setting the tone is the priority.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Browns just need to keep it simple. These are not the Steelers of years past. The Browns need to commit to stopping the run and let their talented cornerbacks play man to man. If they can keep the Steelers in predictable down and distances, then they can let Myles Garrett and company take over.

At the end of the day, if you strip away all the X’s and O’s, this is a matchup of a team that gets all of the breaks versus a team that can’t catch a break. The Browns will need to beat the Steelers, the referees, and dare I say the football gods themselves to get a win on Thursday. I like our odds.

Prediction: Browns 23 Steelers 17
