Game: Pittsburgh Steelers (5-4) at Cleveland Browns (3-6)

Summary: The morale boost from the win over Buffalo will get more attention than it deserves, but the Browns have a viable running attack and the Steelers have had a tough time on the ground this year. That plus home-field favors the Browns.

Cleveland fans are justifiably very happy because of beating a tough Bills team. However any psychological lift for the team is probably overrated, and as soon as they get hit one time all those psychological factors are out the window. What remains, however, is that the Steelers are having a tough time on the ground in 2019, with only 749 yards on the ground and a 3.5 yards per carry average. Moreover, the Browns did well against Buffalo last week, holding them to 84 yards and 4.2 yards per carry. Having Chad Thomas on the field did not weaken them as had been feared.

Believe it or not, the Browns have the sixth-best pass defense in the NFL as measured by yards allowed. This may be a tough matchup for second-year quarterback Mason Rudolph. Their best target is Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster.

Those of us in the media are supposed to say that we deplore unnecessary violence, but to tell truth I will always respect him for giving Vontaze Burfict exactly what he deserved. But the Browns have Denzel Ward to take him out of his game.

The Browns are still going to have weird play calls. They will risk going for it on fourth down and not take the points in an obvious field goal situation. They will call trick plays when there is no reason to so, and they will throw the bomb to OBJ. That will hold back the team despite the talent disparity. Otherwise, it might be a blowout.

The Steelers do not match up well against Cleveland. It is as simple as that.
