Predicting the final 6 Cleveland Browns games in 2019
By Randy Gurzi
Week 15 at Arizona Cardinals
There will be some more intrigue here as well as Baker Mayfield will face off with another No. 1 overall pick in Kyler Murray. The Arizona Cardinals quarterback took over for Mayfield at Oklahoma after he turned pro and proved to be just as big of a star.
Like Mayfield the year before, Murray excelled under Lincoln Riley with the Sooners and ended up winning the Heisman trophy. He was so good that the Cardinals traded away Josh Rosen just one season after making him the No. 10 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Of course, that’s not the only intrigue in this one as Mayfield will be going against Kliff Kingsbury. The current head coach of the Cards was Mayfield’s coach at Texas Tech when he first started his collegiate career. And things were great according to Mayfield until he was injured.
"“It went from being ‘the guy’ for Coach Kingsbury … and then when I got hurt, it just changed a little bit … not a little bit, a lot,” Baker said according to TMZ. “All the sudden it was as if I hadn’t played for him, hadn’t done anything for him. It was just different after I got hurt.”"
Kingsbury has said all the right things but Mayfield isn’t the kind of guy who puts a grudge aside easily. And as he did with Marvin Lewis last season, he will get the best of his old coach here.
Result: Cleveland wins
Record: 8-6
