Round: 4: Justin Madubuike, DT, Texas A&M

This offseason, the Browns added a big defensive tackle in Sheldon Richardson, who now starts next to Larry Ogunjobi. So far, Richardson hasn’t had the impact they hoped for. He’s recorded 38 tackles but has no sacks and the run defense is still an issue.

Ogunjobi has been solid, racking up five sacks and 28 tackles but he will miss one game due to suspension. Looking ahead to 2020, both should still start but they need depth behind them.

Enter Justin Madubuike from Texas A&M. Madubuike is listed at 6-foot-3 and 304-pounds but has the versatility to move all over the line. He was credited with 40 tackles, 10.5 for a loss, and 5.5 sacks in 2018. He’s once again been a force for the Aggies in 2019, picking up another 37 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and got his first career interception.

Round 5: Anthony McFarland, RB, Maryland

Dontrell Hilliard has not been the change of pace back the Browns expected him to be. While they like the duo of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, the coaching staff liked what Duke Johnson did as more of a scatback and only felt comfortable trading him when they saw flashes from Hilliard.

In the regular season, he’s gone MIA, so they bring someone else in with Anthony McFarland. The Maryland running back is a redshirt sophomore known for his speed and elusiveness. He’s not an every-down back but has the big-play ability, which will help him get on the field for Cleveland.
