3. Chad Thomas records another sack

Olivier Vernon is expected to be back after missing the past couple of games. Chad Thomas has been filling in for him but the 2018 third-round pick won’t head back to the bench even if Vernon plays the whole game. We all know why that is — it’s due to Myles Garrett being suspended.

Heading into this game, Cleveland fans have to feel much better about Thomas than they did early in the year. After a rookie season where he did very little, Thomas was a player many fans were frustrated with. However, he’s taken a big step forward this season.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

In 10 games, he has 13 tackles and three sacks. Two of those sacks came during the past two weeks, which also happen to be his only career starts. While he isn’t putting up Pro Bowl numbers, he’s getting the job done and proved to be rather capable.

Against the Dolphins, he should be able to extend the streak and record a sack for the third game in a row.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is a savvy veteran who doesn’t get the respect he deserves. As true as that statement is, Fitzpatrick is no track star.

On the season, he’s been sacked 24 times. That’s alarming as it is but he’s actually only started seven games. In their last outing, he was taken down seven times. This should be a good thing for Thomas as he will have every chance to get Fitzpatrick to the ground.
