2. Baker Mayfield extends his pick-free streak

Baker Mayfield was in a sophomore slump to start this season. That was evident in many ways but none more so than his inability to protect the football. In his first seven games of the year, Mayfield threw 12 interceptions.

He also had two games with three total picks. One was the season opener against the Tennessee Titans and the other was in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks.

During those seven games, the team was 2-5 and he had thrown at least one pick in every contest. The good news is, this seems to be in the past.

Mayfield appears to have snapped out of the funk he was in and has now thrown five touchdowns against zero interceptions in the past three games. Their record in that time is 2-1 and it very well could have been 3-0 had Baker seen OBJ streaking down the sideline for a potential winning score against the Denver Broncos.

Against Miami, Mayfield should be able to continue his pick-free streak. There aren’t too many players on the Dolphins defense that will be able to cover OBJ, Jarvis Landry, and Kareem Hunt out of the backfield.

That plays right into Mayfield’s hand as he can continually look for the open player and not have to force any crazy passes.
