Mack attack in the endzone.

The Cleveland Browns defense has lacked game-changing momentum-swinging plays all season long. That ends this Sunday when the Browns will score their first defensive touchdown of the season. The reason for this particular prediction comes down to one universal law: the Browns are due.

The Cincinnati Bengals have already given up three defensive touchdowns on the season, and the Browns need to add to that total. Given my earlier prediction of Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams each getting an interception in this game, one might think that one of them would be the one to hit pay dirt. However, it will not be a defensive back that breaks the seal on the endzone. The touchdown is going to come from a linebacker.

The leading candidate should be Joe Schobert who has been on an interception tear as of late, notching four in the last three games. Joe ‘the Scho’ has never been in an NFL endzone with a ball in his hands. Schobert taking one to the house would be something that could tear the roof off First Energy Stadium if it had one. But…it’s not going to be Joe.

The player that gets the Browns’ first defensive touchdown will be…Mack Wilson. That’s right, Wilson. The rookie linebacker has seen a slow steady improvement in his overall play over the last month. That improvement will culminate in No. 51 putting up 6 on the scoreboard.
