Who is to blame: Odell Beckham Jr.

Remember the euphoria and excitement thing every Browns fan felt when the trade was announced? Well, the media rumors were split on how Odell Beckham Jr. felt on the trade.

While some said he was just happy to be out of New York and team up with his old college teammate Jarvis Landry in Cleveland, others in the media said he wasn’t thrilled with going from one team destined to lose to another with a history of losing.

Beckham has said all the right things this season, even though he’s having the worst statistical season of his career. There has been buzz all season about him not being happy and wanting out of Cleveland, but he has come out each time and said he is where he wants to be.

Sunday morning on Fox’s NFL Countdown show, however, Jay Glazer reported on new rumors that he’s hearing. Odell Beckham Jr. is apparently telling opposing teams to “Come and get me” when he greets them in pregame warm-ups.

While it’s ultimately impossible to tell if these rumors are true, as OBJ and anyone he may have said this to are highly unlikely to come forward and admit it, the rumors aren’t coming from just thin air. Where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire.

Perhaps the biggest person to blame for Odell Beckham’s struggles in Cleveland is himself. While he may truly love playing with Mayfield, Chubb, and Landry, that may not be enough for him to fully commit to being a Cleveland Brown.

If that’s the case, and Beckham truly isn’t bought into this team for the long-term, as well as whatever comes with that in the form of player changes, staff changes, or anything else, then he is the problem himself with his lack of production. If Beckham truly isn’t sold on being a part of the Cleveland Browns long term, Dorsey should look to get as much back for him as he can.
