Game: Cleveland Browns (6-7) at Arizona Cardinals (3-9-1)

Summary: Baker Mayfield will get his revenge on Kliff Kingsbury. There is no evidence that either defense will show up on Sunday, but the Browns are more complete on offense and will outscore the Arizona Cardinals.

This game has all the makings of a shootout. Baker Mayfield is going to get his revenge on the coach who did not put him on scholarship at Texas Tech, then refused for a time to allow Oklahoma to put him on scholarship, while also trying to cause him to lose a year of eligibility. Nice guy, Kliff Kingsbury. Well, as ye sow, so shall ye reap.

More from Browns News

The Browns are learning to survive without Myles Garrett, while the Cardinals have been terrible on defense all year. Worse, safety Budda Baker leads the NFL in tackles but he has not been able to practice so far this week due to an injured hamstring injury. The Cardinals are last in the NFL in total defense, so it seems that this is a great opportunity for a coming-out party for Baker Mayfield.

The Air Raid offense of Kliff Kingsbury produces thrills with dynamic Kyler Murray at quarterback, but he is leading the NFL with 46 sacks. That’s all the more alarming because Murray is so elusive that you would have to believe that a less athletic quarterback would be dead by now.

Steve Wilks’ 4-2-5 defense is well suited to handle Arizona’s multiple wide receiver formations, and the Browns may play additional dime coverages against a team that likes up-tempo quick passes, and which is not really a power running team.

The Browns are not to be confused with the Chicago Bears. But they are good enough to land more punches against a downtrodden Arizona team.

Prediction: Cleveland 34, Arizona 27
