Dud: Greg Robinson

Greg Robinson has been on a roller coaster ride as the Cleveland Browns left tackle. At times during the season he has had quiet games, which is a great sign for an offensive lineman. But at other times, he becomes a focal point of the result of the game.

He may not have had too much of an impact on the result of Sunday’s loss, but it was not another pretty start for the Browns left tackle. After being called for a holding penalty early in the game, Robinson was called for a false start soon after.

Matthew Judon had a step on Robinson, so Robinson was forced to hold him to prevent him from getting to Mayfield. Robinson then tried to get a jump on Judon, which resulted in Robinson jumping before the snap, resulting in another penalty. The Browns were able to convert on the long down and distance, but Robinson’s penalties backed the Browns up in their own territory.

Cleveland’s inconsistent play at the tackles has been a major problem for the offense this season. With the pressures they allow, it has forced Mayfield to step up into more interior pressure or scramble into no man’s land. It is clear the Browns need to upgrade at tackle this offseason, the question is if they need to invest two new tackles instead of just one?
