When the Browns traded away Kevin Zeitler, they felt as though they were taking a calculated risk. Yes, Zeitler was one of the better guards in the NFL and moving on from him took guts. But they felt as though they could replace him with Austin Corbett and ended up with edge rusher Olivier Vernon.

The move made sense, but it blew up on Cleveland. Vernon has played in just nine games so far this season and Corbett is no longer on the team. The 33rd overall pick last season was considered a bust as John Dorsey sent him to the Los Angeles Rams for a late-round pick.

With him gone, the job went to Eric Kush but he was unable to lock it down. Now, Wyatt Teller is playing right guard and while he’s been an upgrade over Kush, he hasn’t done as well as the team hoped.

Still, guard isn’t as dire of a need as offensive tackle so they’re able to exercise patience in this mock draft. That pays off for them as they end up with a quality player in Logan Stenberg out of Kentucky. The 6-foot-6, 320-pound redshirt senior is known for his strength and rarely gets beaten with power moves.

He won’t be handed a starting job but has the potential to battle with Teller and possible Drew Forbes, their sixth-round pick from this season. At worst, this is a depth piece but there’s a chance for much more.
