One on the bubble: Rashard Higgins, Wide Receiver

Admittedly, emotion gets involved in this one. Rashard Higgins is yet another incredibly popular player in Cleveland and he turned a corner in 2018. His rapport with Baker Mayfield was evident as the third-year pro finished with a career-high in receptions (39), yards (572), and touchdowns (4). He was then given a restricted free-agent tender and expected to contribute in 2019.

That ended up never coming to fruition as he’s been active for just 10 games and has gone several contests where he sat on the sideline. Entering Week 17, Higgins has just 11 pass targets and four receptions for 55 yards and a single touchdown. Although, that one touchdown was a game-winner against the Buffalo Bills in Week 10.

If the Browns staff stays as is, there’s probably no chance Higgins returns. Freddie Kitchens and Todd Monken don’t seem to have him in the plans and Higgins would be better off elsewhere.

However, if the staff changes over, there could be a chance he returns. A new head coach and offensive coordinator could be more inclined to bring back a player that Mayfield showed such a connection with.

For that reason, Hollywood Higgins finds himself on the bubble as a player who we have no idea what could happen with him in 2020.
