1. Cordarrelle Patterson

Following the best season of his career with the New England Patriots in 2018, Cordarrelle Patterson signed a two-year contract with Matt Nagy and the Chicago Bears.

Many thought the Bears would use him much like the Patriots did, utilizing his dynamic skills in the running game and quick passing game to allow him to make players. Instead, Patterson was mostly a return man for the Bears, yielding only 28 total touches from scrimmage in 2019.

Patterson began his career as a Viking, and Stefanski is very familiar with him, having been there each year since Patterson was drafted. Patterson’s playmaking abilities on both offense, when given the touches, and in the return game make him an excellent candidate for the Cleveland Browns to target by trade this offseason.

With the uncertain future of several key playmakers for the Browns, such as running back Kareem Hunt and wide receiver Rashard Higgins, Patterson could make a significant impact as a wide receiver and a situational running back when given the chance.

He would also be a huge improvement in the kick return game. While the Browns finished 20th in average return per kickoff return at only 24 yards per return, Patterson averaged nearly 30 yards per kick return in 2019.

Having Patterson’s explosive speed and ability to break off long returns on kickoffs would greatly help a Browns team that lacked explosion during the 2019 season.

While it would only be a one year rental at first, Patterson’s familiarity with Stefanski would likely get him to want to stay onboard with the team beyond 2020.
