Greg Joseph, Kicker, Tennessee Titans

Fans will remember Greg Joseph for his nervy kicks. The man never instilled confidence for fans or the team, as evidenced by John Dorsey drafting Austin Siebert the following year.

He was somewhat serviceable in his lone season in brown and orange but he too often had poorly timed misses and a knack for making every kick look difficult. Even with that said, it was looking increasingly likely that he would win the kicking competition in Cleveland after a shaky start by Siebert in the preseason.

Siebert eventually made a technique adjustment and forced Joseph out of Cleveland. When he was cut, I figured he would be back in the NFL soon simply because there aren’t many solid kickers in the league right now.

He was picked up by the Titans in Week 16 due to an injury to starting kicker Ryan Succop. He has not yet attempted a field goal as a Titan but is perfect on extra points so far, going 9 for 9.

It’s poetic that he would be back in the NFL on a team one win away from the Super Bowl; if the Titans can continue their magical run and do the improbable, I hope he gets the winning field goal just to prove that drafting kickers is a fool’s errand.
