Danny Vitale, Fullback, Green Bay Packers

Danny Vitale is another one of those “could’ve been” players, especially with the Browns hiring a head coach who knows how to use fullbacks well. He hasn’t done much in the NFL in terms of stats but is built like a tank and has been a vital piece to the Packer’s strong run offense.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

It took some time for Vitale to earn a chance to contribute in the NFL. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2016 but was a part of their final roster cuts. He was later claimed by the Buffalo Bills but failed his medical examination.

A week later, he rejoined the Bucs’ practice squad and stayed there until the Browns signed him. They plugged Vitale into the lineup immediately and he was a mainstay until an unfortunate calf injury landed him on Injured Reserve.

He was released in October 2018 and quickly claimed by the Packers. He is a strong lead blocker and has enough receiving chops to add another wrinkle to Matt LaFleur’s offense.

Keep an eye on him to see how new Browns coach Kevin Stefanski may utilize a fullback. As a side note, Vitale is a free agent this year and could be one to watch to come back to the Browns in an attempt to retool the offense.
