The Browns go for some defensive line depth here in the third round. Some may still want to draft a starter here, but defensive lines need to rotate constantly to stay fresh, especially at the defensive tackle position. Appearing in 44 games in his college career and starting 27 of them, Leki Fotu is one of the top defensive tackle prospects in this year’s draft. He could add much-needed depth at arguably the Browns most top-heavy position on the team.

Last season when Sheldon Richardson or Larry Ogunjobi got subbed out, the backup defensive tackles were exposed. Fotu will be able to plug up holes to give the Browns stud defensive tackles a breath. Listed at a whopping 6-foot-5 and 335 pounds, he would be a great one-tech for the Cleveland Browns. He would also add value to the team’s goal line packages, as both Richardson and Ogunjobi are both better three-techs, so their production would benefit from drafting Fotu also.

It’s a tried and true formula, that if you want to build an NFL team, you need to start in the trenches. The Browns have slacked in this aspect over the past two seasons, so addressing them in this draft would provide a huge boost to the franchise.
