Isaiah Simmons, Clemson Linebacker

If Isaiah Simmons were on the board at No. 10 overall than he should be the selection with that pick. Outside of Chase Young, Simmons was the best defensive player in all of college football last season. He played everywhere for Clemson. Safety, linebacker or rushing end, he dominated wherever he was asked to play.

Matt Miller of Bleacher Report has him going No. 9 overall to Jacksonville, but here is what he said about Simmons:

"Isaiah Simmons had a dominant year for Clemson showing his versatility as a safety, linebacker, cornerback and all-around eraser for the Tigers defense. Where he’ll play in the NFL is only limited by the imagination of his defensive coordinator. – Matt Miller, Bleacher Report"

Simmons is so talented that he may even be worth giving up a later draft pick to move up a spot or two to ensure the Browns get him. With 104 tackles, eight sacks and three interceptions for Clemson last season, it is easy to see why all the draft pundits love him.

The 2019 Dick Butkus Award winner would fit the mold for this Browns defense no matter where they decided to line him up. With a need at safety and linebacker, Simmons is a plug and play player right off the bat.

Bringing in Simmons would also give the Browns a chance to have a true playmaker at all three levels of the defense with Simmons at linebacker, Myles Garrett on the defensive line and Denzel Ward in the secondary. That would be a very intriguing trio of players to build the defense around for this Browns coaching staff.
