Matt Moore

It’s unlikely that the Chiefs let Matt Moore go in free agency. He came out of retirement when the Chiefs called him up this season after an injury to backup quarterback Chad Henne. Before coming out of retirement, he was working as a part time scout for the Miami Dolphins. The fact that he was working as a part time scout almost immediately after retiring from the NFL should show his high football IQ and how valuable that could be for the Browns to have in the quarterback room.

If Matt Moore leaves Kansas City, its probably for retirement and to go back to scouting. However, the Browns should give him a call and make it worth his time to come to Cleveland and help out Baker. Moore started 32 games in his 11 season career, most notably for the Miami Dolphins. A solid 16-16 record as a starter, Moore never had the physical attributes to be a franchise quarterback, but found a great role as a backup in the NFL.

Undrafted out of Oregon State, Moore originally landed on the Carolina Panthers before ending up in Miami, where he would start a career high 12 games in 2011. He put up decent stats in that run, throwing 16 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Moore also has a playoff game underneath his belt, as he started in 2016 in a wildcard game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which the Dolphins would end up losing.

Who knows, maybe Matt Moore could be the Browns good luck charm and help Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns win Super Bowl LV, like he did for Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs this season.
