Saahdiq Charles is one of the most interesting prospects in the NFL draft in my opinion. Considered undersized for an NFL offensive tackle, I think that calling him a potential guard is a lazy take. Height is one of the most overrated statistics for an offensive linemen, as it is more important to have longer arms and be athletic than it is to be 6-foot-6.

Listed as 6’4 and 295-lbs by LSU, it will be interesting to see what he measures at the NFL combine. If he can stay 6’4, I believe that an NFL team will take a shot at him as an offensive tackle. His biggest combine event will for sure be his measurement, and I am expecting it to go well for him.

Charles had been mocked as a day three guy, so the Browns selecting him in the fourth round would be great in my opinion. He has the athleticism to play all five positions on the offensive line, even though he mostly played left tackle at LSU.

A 28 game starter in college, he made 26 starts at left tackle, one at right tackle, and one at right guard. The Browns could use someone of his versatility as a potential starter to develop or as a good backup swing tackle that can play all 5 positions.

Lance Zierlien’s draft analysis of Saahdiq Charles goes along well with everything that I see of him on tape. He has all the intangibles with his athleticism and decent size to be a successful offensive lineman at the next level, there are just a few tweaks that need to be made to his game with his punch in pass protection.

This is something that Bill Callahan can definitely help him improve on. Saahdiq Charles is going to be an absolute steal for someone in the NFL draft, and I hope it is the Browns.
