4. Ben Bartch, Offensive Tackle, St. John’s

Ben Bartch is an offensive tackle from Division III school, St. John’s University. He was a former tight end who has converted to tackle and decided to gain weight to fit the position.

He is listed at 6-foot-6 and 305 pounds. He will likely need to add a few more pounds to play tackle in the NFL, but is certainly still a large body and is able to fill out more once on an elite training program.

Bartch was invited to and participated in the Senior Bowl. He was the only Division III player to be invited to the Senior Bowl. This shows the scout’s belief and intrigue in Bartch as a player.

The St. John’s product is very good at finishing the play and playing through the whistle. Being a former tight end, he is very aware and has excellent vision.

When contact is created, Bartch is good at keeping contact and staying with his block. The film does show that he seems to struggle on some pass plays. He needs to work on his retreat steps because a good NFL defensive end will blow by if he does not fix his fundamentals.

Another player at a position of need for the Browns, Bartch could be a late-round target for Cleveland.
