2. Larry Ogunjobi, Defensive Tackle

This past season saw Larry Ogunjobi take a step backward in terms of his efficiency. It wasn’t evident in his numbers as Larry O still put up 50 tackles and 5.5 sacks in his third season in the NFL.

This was expected as he proved in 2018 that he’s a very good interior pass rusher. The problem is that Ogunjobi and fellow defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson both struggled to stop the run. They’re both similar players which led to the inconsistencies on the line, but both are still incredibly talented and should be on the field often.

A former third-round pick out of Charlotte back in 2017, Ogunjobi has quickly become a fan favorite due to his ability to get after opposing quarterbacks — and needs to be in the team’s plans long-term. Putting him on the same defensive line as Myles Garrett, Richardson, and Olivier Vernon gives the Browns a quartet of pass rushers that can keep offensive linemen up at night.

What makes Ogunjobi even more enticing for Cleveland when considering extensions, is that he’s still young and improving. At 25-years of age, he’s just now coming into his prime. Landing a new deal now would be beneficial as it would not only give him security but the team would be betting on him early and should he continue to grow as a player, he’ll look like a steal in the near future.
