1. Myles Garrett, Defensive End

No player saw their stock drop further than Myles Garrett did in 2019, but it had nothing to do with his play. Instead, Garrett was in the middle of one of the worst instances in the NFL last season when he was in a brawl with Mason Rudolph of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

That fight ended with Garrett swinging a helmet at Rudolph and hitting him in the head with it. He was suspended the final six games of the season. As for his play, he had 10 sacks in his first 10 games, putting him on track to break the team record for most sacks in a single season.

It was also a terrible PR hit for the usually mild-mannered Garrett. Fans who didn’t know him well before this incident have now judged him on hours worst moment — which surely none of us would want for ourselves.

As for the Cleveland faithful, they continued to support No. 95 and will welcome him back in 2020 with open arms. As will Andrew Berry who was part of the regime that took Garrett first overall in 2017.

Berry could also continue to show support for Garrett by giving him a new deal this season. It would make sense to do so as Garrett is one of the best edge rushers in the NFL, evidenced by his 30.5 sacks in 37 career games.

Garrett is a superstar that Cleveland can build their defense around. They’re going to eventually pay him long-term, so there’s really no reason to put it off.
